Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most common questions about AquaForge’s Regulatory Intelligence platform, covering data accuracy, jurisdiction coverage, project privacy, legal standing, pricing, and integrations. Can’t find what you’re looking for? Get in touch.
Data accuracy and coverage
How does AquaForge ensure the accuracy of extracted regulatory requirements?
Every requirement is linked directly to its authoritative government source (bylaw, provincial regulation, or federal statute) with a precise reference to the applicable clause. Conflicts between overlapping regulations are explicitly flagged rather than silently resolved.
How frequently is the regulatory database updated?
Major updates such as new regulations, revised limits, and revoked standards are integrated within 30 business days of official publication. Every extraction carries a data reference date, and a re-analysis function lets you compare the regulatory state at bid versus delivery.
Does the platform cover all three regulatory tiers: federal, state or provincial, and municipal?
Yes. For every project, the platform builds a three-tier regulatory stack covering federal, provincial or state, and municipal regulations. All three layers are analyzed together to identify the most stringent applicable requirements and any inter-tier conflicts.
How does the platform handle conflicts between overlapping regulations?
When two instruments set contradictory requirements for the same parameter, the platform flags the conflict, identifies the source documents in tension, and defaults to the most stringent standard. Your team retains the ability to override that interpretation where a variance or site-specific permit condition applies.
Which jurisdictions are currently covered?
At launch, coverage spans core Canadian and United States water treatment jurisdictions. Coverage expands progressively through 2026 and 2027, with European jurisdictions and additional industrial applications scheduled in subsequent phases. For projects in jurisdictions outside current coverage, contact our team to confirm scope before purchasing a subscription.
Inputs and project scope
Can the platform handle water characteristics entered as ranges rather than fixed values?
Yes. Each parameter (concentrations, temperature, pH, flow rate) can be entered as min-max ranges with correlations between variables. The platform propagates those ranges through the regulatory analysis, reflecting actual site variability rather than idealized values.
Does the platform cover drinking water projects, or only wastewater?
Both. Drinking water and wastewater projects share the same multi-jurisdiction extraction architecture and gap analysis logic. Projects involving both streams simultaneously, such as an industrial facility managing process water and municipal discharge, are handled in a single analysis.
Privacy, security, and legal standing
Is my project data confidential? Will it be used to train your models?
Project data is encrypted at rest and in transit, and it is never shared with third parties. AquaForge does not use client data to train its models without explicit consent, and each subscription is fully data-isolated.
What is the legal standing of the platform’s outputs?
AquaForge reports are engineering working documents, not legal opinions or regulatory submissions. Any formal filing to a regulatory authority must be reviewed and stamped by a licensed professional engineer (P.Eng. / PE) with appropriate standing in the relevant jurisdiction.
AquaForge vs. general AI tools and ROI
What makes AquaForge fundamentally different from a general-purpose AI tool?
General-purpose models produce plausible answers, but they do not guarantee source accuracy or currency. AquaForge structures requirements directly from official regulatory documents, traces every output back to its government source, and applies them to the specific characteristics of your project.
On what type of project does AquaForge pay for itself fastest?
Multi-jurisdiction projects, time-constrained RFP responses, and projects involving foreign-language regulations. At 10 to 12 hours saved per RFP, a firm submitting around 15 proposals per year typically recovers the annual subscription cost within the first two or three files.
Workflow, integrations, and ongoing use
How do Regulatory Intelligence outputs feed into the Generative Design module?
At the conclusion of a Regulatory Intelligence analysis, every structured requirement is automatically converted into design constraints, with no manual re-entry. Generative Design then optimizes the treatment train against the full regulatory framework, from gap identification to technology selection. Generative Design launches in 2027.
Can AquaForge help manage ongoing compliance for an existing facility?
Yes. The platform supports regulatory monitoring, periodic compliance audits against current effluent characteristics, and forward planning for upcoming regulatory changes. It flags any update to a covered regulation that affects your facility’s current obligations.
Does AquaForge offer API access or integration with third-party tools?
API access is available under enterprise arrangements, enabling direct integration into project management platforms, BIM environments, or internal compliance systems. OEM and system integrator partnership arrangements are also available. Contact our team to discuss options.
